This format was introduced at EPNS Congress 2023 in Prague.

The Editor and 4 co-editors of EJPN select papers from the editions of the European Journal of Paediatric Neurology (EJPN) since the previous EPNS Congress and a jury consisting of members of the EPNS Board allocated scores based on originality / Impact on clinical care/ networks / style. The prize is free congress registration and a donation from Elsevier publishers.

Paper of the Year Award 2025

Congratulations to  Lisa Quack from the Germany who won this award for for the EJPN article ‘Autoantibody status, neuroradiological and clinical findings in children with acute cerebellitis’’. Thank you to Lisa for delivering a brief presentation about the article during the Opening Ceremony of the 16th EPNS Congress on 8 July 2025 in Munich. The award was presented by Professor Dimitrios Zafeiriou, EPNS Secretary & EJPN Editor-in-Chief,  and Riccardo Paracampo PhD, Senior Publisher at Elsevier.
