The EPNS online Skills Lab has 3 components: EEG Club, Genetics Club and Imaging Club which take place on 1st Monday of the month at 6pmCET, in alternate months.
As part of the EPNS Skills Lab series, the EPNS is delighted to offer the EEG Club – a free, interactive online learning experience designed for paediatric neurologists and trainees who wish to improve their EEG interpretation skills.
Each 30–60-minute session focuses on the collaborative review and discussion of a selected EEG recording, providing participants with the opportunity to compare interpretations, discuss challenging findings, and learn from colleagues and experts in a supportive educational environment.

How It Works
The EEG selected for discussion will be made available on the EPNS website approximately one week before each session.
Participants are encouraged to:
- Review the EEG independently before the webinar
- Prepare their own EEG report and interpretation
- Use the report template guidance provided
- Note any uncertainties or questions for discussion during the session
- Be ready to contribute to the interactive discussion if invited
During the webinar, participants will explore:
- How EEG findings relate to the patient’s clinical presentation
- Recognition of normal and abnormal EEG patterns
- The significance of different EEG features
- How EEG findings can support diagnosis
- When additional investigations may be required
- How EEG interpretation may influence treatment decisions
The sessions provide a valuable opportunity to discuss difficult cases, share expertise, and learn practical approaches to EEG reporting.
Interactive Participation
The EEG Club is designed to be highly interactive.
Attendees are encouraged to participate in the panel actively during the webinar. At the start of each session, attendees who wish to contribute will be invited to raise their hand. A selected number of participants will then be promoted to panellists, allowing them to be seen, heard, and actively engage in the discussion.
Please only volunteer to participate if you are comfortable having your camera switched on and contributing verbally during the session.
All other attendees will remain muted throughout the webinar unless invited to participate.
Report Template Guidance: How to read EEG DC – report template guidance
Participants may download the proposed EEG report template to support their preparation before the session. The template is intended as an educational guide and can help structure EEG interpretation and reporting.
Any uncertainties regarding EEG interpretation or report writing can be addressed during the live discussion
EPNS Skills Lab and Educational Resources
A growing library of webinar recordings, accompanying reports, and educational resources are available to EPNS members through the EPNS Moodle platform. If you are unable to attend a live session, recordings of previous Skills Lab webinars can also be accessed via Moodle. Please note: Access to recordings and member resources is available exclusively to fully paid-up EPNS members.
